Allegra House is owner-operated hosted accommodation in central Paihia – the heart of the Bay of Islands. Wake up to stunning uninterrupted views overlooking the bay across to Russell and Paihia township below.

We are conveniently located 7- 10 minutes pleasant walk downhill through our native bush (or 2 mins by car ) to Paihia wharf, shops, restaurants, local beaches and walking tracks.

Our purpose built rooms are light and spacious with modern style, quality furniture and fittings. Room types on offer include the Island View B&B Room, the Top Suite B&B Room and a Self-Contained Apartment.

Hearty fresh breakfasts are included with the B&B rooms and can be booked as an extra option with the apartment.

Your hosts Heinz and Brita

We have lived most of our lives in New Zealand working in various tourism and hospitality businesses and arrived in Paihia in 1993 with our 2 young daughters. We are originally from Switzerland and England and speak German and French fluently but very happy to very much call NZ and the Bay of Islands home.

We welcome guests to share our home for a while and we will happily share our knowledge of the Bay of Islands and the rest of New Zealand to help you have the very best stay and take away happy memories. There is so much to do in the area we can fill as many days as you have and hope you may even find time to relax and enjoy the views.

Had a brilliant stay. Lovely spacious and comfy room and what a view. Great having a lovely breakfast made
and the hosts are just lovely – great advice about where to go and when. Helped us to maximise what we
could see and do on our stay. You just don’t get that level of personal knowledge from an anonymous chain.
Would stay here again for sure.

The hospitality of the host couple is impressive. They are very committed and helpful towards
their guests. Beautiful orderly facility which is kept in good condition. They deserve maximum
recognition. The place is slightly elevated above the landscape with a beautiful view of the bay.
And then they serve a fantastic breakfast buffet with home-baked bread. It can’t get any better.

“Amazing Views, Hosts & House, Absolute Bliss!”

Amazing and quality service. Brita and her husband were absolutely lovely to us and accommodating.
The rooms were all absolutely stunning. No matter what room you have, you will have a beautiful
view of the bay. THE breakfast was amazing!! Home made fresh bread and ingredients, eggs cooked
to our liking, fresh fruit, meats and cheeses. You guys are so great and we cant wait to come back 💙💙
